Mattern & Craig provided survey and design services for geometric improvements and a traffic signal replacement at the intersection of SR 34 and SR 354. The project included 0.6 miles of roadway improvements including the addition of turn lanes, concrete islands, curb and gutter, and retaining walls; replacement of the traffic signal; adding roadway signs; extension of a box culvert; hydraulic analysis of a tributary to Little Limestone Creek; and preliminary investigations to replace two (2) existing bridges for existing commercial development. The project was managed by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and funded with federal Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) funds.
Construction was completed in 2018, at a cost of $2.6 million.
