Mattern & Craig provided comprehensive professional engineering services for a “pad ready” site suitable for industrial development in the Bristol Business Park (Partnership Park Phase III) in Bristol, Tennessee. Contract Documents for mass grading and site improvement activities were developed for the approximate 50 acre site located adjacent to the Media General Facility off SR-394 within the Park.

Services included preparation of a preliminary engineering report to secure partial project funding of $500k from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (ECD) and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) through a “Select Sites” Tennessee Site Development Grant Application submitted by Bristol Tennessee Essential Services (BTES); the City of Bristol, TN; and the NETWORKS Sullivan Development Partnership. BTES funded the remaining $1.85m of the $2.35m project.

Partnered with GEOServices, LLC for geotechnical field investigations and report; and the Environmental Assessment report used to inform the work and project specifications for grading activities. Services included field surveys; engineered design and calculations for drainage and stormwater management; site grading plans; ESC plans and details; preparation of SWPPP and TDEC Construction General Permit; prepared upfront construction contract provisions; assistance during bidding; construction administration; survey layout of improvements; and limited resident project representation (inspection) during construction.
