Mattern & Craig Announces the Retirement of Mike Agee

Mattern & Craig would like to recognize and celebrate with Michael Agee on the occasion of his retirement!

Mike will be retiring at the end of October and we want to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt Congratulations and a sincere Thank You to Mike for his 34 years of dedicated service to Mattern & Craig and our clients throughout Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic!

Mike is a Vice President and Principal in our Roanoke office. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. He retires with over 45 years of expertise in a broad range of civil and transportation engineering projects.

As the head of Mattern & Craig’s Virginia Transportation Division, he has been responsible for staffing, production, and quality assurance for all transportation projects in our Roanoke office. He has also served as the head of the Surveying Division in the Roanoke Office, responsible for staffing and contract administration.

Mike is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE); the Virginia Section of ITE; Roanoke Chamber of Commerce; Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance (VTCA); and is a Founding Member of the Blue Ridge Section of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE). He has served as Secretary of the Section since its inception in 2007.

His commitment to managing numerous successful projects in the Roanoke Valley, throughout the state of VA, and in several other states speaks to a career of service and dedication to the profession and to those we serve.

Mike and his wife Debbie will be enjoying retirement relaxing on Smith Mountain Lake.  Please join us in wishing Mike the very best upon his retirement!

Upon Mike’s retirement, Randy Dodson, Mattern & Craig’s Corporate Transportation Division Head, will be the interim leader for all transportation related activities in Virginia.
