Steven A. Campbell, P.E.
Principal/Head of Production

The employee-owners at Mattern & Craig would like to extend a heartfelt Congratulations to Steve Campbell on the occasion of his retirement!

Steve celebrated his official retirement from Mattern & Craig on January 5, 2022. He has been part of the M&C family for over 34 years, and has set a very strong precedent for leadership and professionalism within the company during his time here.

Steve graduated in 1979 from Virginia Tech with his B.A. in Civil Engineering, and in 1986 completed his M.E. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structures from Virginia Tech. During his outstanding career, Steve has served Mattern & Craig in a variety of roles, most recently as the President and Head of Production.  In addition, he helped build the M&C Structural Division into what it is today and served many years as the Head of the Structural Division.

Steve became President of Mattern & Craig in 2004.  In his role as President and Head of Production, Steve was a vital member of the company’s Board of Directors and served as a mentor and leader for the firm’s project managers and staff.  Under Steve’s guidance, Mattern & Craig experienced some of the most successful years in the firm’s 43-year history.

Congratulations, Steve, and Thank You for your dedicated service to Mattern & Craig and our clients!

Brad Craig presently serves as President of the firm and Randy Beckner has assumed the role of Head of Production.  Chad Thomas has served in the role of Head of Structural Division for the past several years, having worked directly with Steve and growing into this role.
