April 6, 2020 – Mattern & Craig Engineers • Surveyors, an employee owned civil and structural engineering and surveying firm, announces the opening of their Charleston, SC office. Mattern & Craig, based in Roanoke, VA, employs more than 75 employees in their 6 offices in 4 Southeastern states. Their other offices are in East TN and Western NC.
The new office, located at 1565 Sam Rittenberg Blvd, Suite 101 in Charleston, is the firm’s sixth office and represents the firm’s growth and commitment to serving clients in the Lowcountry and throughout SC. Aaron Carver, a graduate of the University of Tennessee and licensed professional engineer in both SC and NC, will be in charge of the daily operations of the new office. Aaron is an experienced engineer with a diverse background in civil engineering, transportation engineering, and hydraulics and storm drainage design. Aaron is a resident of Johns Island having relocated here from the Asheville, NC area in 2019. Jim Neal of Summerville has also joined the firm in the role of Strategic Business Development in the Carolinas. Jim is a licensed professional engineer in SC and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure.
