Mattern & Craig is pleased to announce that Calvin Clifton, Business Development Manager, recently received certification as an Associate Water Asset Manager (AWAM). This certificate of training in asset management (CTAM) is administered by the Trenchless Technology Center at Louisiana Tech University on behalf of the Buried Asset Management Institute.
The necessary training and related exams consist of courses in the development, management, and financing of asset management programs. This certification is specific to buried infrastructure assets such as water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
Mattern & Craig is making a concerted effort to develop senior level staff that are experienced and certified in buried asset management in order to produce and implement asset management plans to meet the needs of their clients both large and small.
Clifton is a former public-sector water/wastewater systems manager and also served as a public works director where he administered stormwater management plans and managed stormwater infrastructure. Clifton is a past-president of the Tennessee Chapter of the American Public Works Association and serves on the APWA national Government Affairs Committee.
Regarding this certification, Randy Beckner, Principal / Chairman of the Board, stated “Mattern & Craig believes that Mr. Clifton’s past experience in public works along with the training associated with this certification makes him uniquely qualified to assist public water, wastewater, and stormwater service providers in the evaluation and management of their systems.”
