Mattern & Craig’s Business Development Manager, Calvin Clifton, recently wrote an article about his experience in Public Works for the Tennessee Public Works Magazine. The article, “Tale of Two Careers: Public & Private”, was highlighted in the TPW Magazine Mar-Apr issue this year. Clifton talks about the people, places, and experiences that have shaped his career in public works, and he highlights the importance of networking and staying connected to local firms – which is largely how he began his career at M&C. He says in the article,
“Fortunately, I have been with Mattern & Craig since 2012, but I have been well acquainted with the firm and many of the key staff since 1992-93. We, the City of Kingsport, were the firm’s first major client in Tennessee…Randy Beckner, Principal/Chairman, and I stayed in touch through the years and in 2012, we mutually decided that I should come to work for M&C.”
